In 2009, Tony designed the first Skiff to complement the vertically oriented Doepfer P6 cases available at the time by providing an ergonomic enclosure for our René and Pressure Points touch controllers. These early skiffs were shallow, handcrafted wood designs. In 2015, a revised aluminum 3U Make Noise Skiff was released. This new design had enough depth to fit a wide range of modules, providing a smart way to build a small modular synthesizer.
Now, the Skiff has been updated again, this time to meet the more demanding power standards of today, with the 2-Zone Bus Board providing nearly double the power of its predecessor, plus the multi-zone design making it easy to isolate noise-susceptible or noise-causing modules from each other. The low-profile power headers are shrouded for easy and efficient module installation.
As before, the Skiff’s powder-coated aluminum construction is extremely durable. The clean, simple lines and matte black color place visual emphasis where the action is; the patch the artist has created.
